In celebration of Chanukah/Hannukah, Classical 90.5 is proud to offer the following specials:

Eight Nights of Chanukah – December 16th-24th 4pm
The Jewish holiday of Chanukah – the Festival of Lights – is celebrated over the course of eight nights. In a series of radio vignettes called The Eight Nights of Chanukah, WQXR’s Naomi Lewin tells the stories, and talks about the customs of the holiday, including the Chanukah miracle, lighting the menorah, traditional foods, and why Chanukah is so hard to spell.

Candles Burning Brightly – December 16th 8pm
Join hosts Mindy Ratner and Bill Morelock for a one-hour celebration of Chanukah, the Jewish Festival of Lights. There’s plenty of music from Jewish communities around the world, plus an exploration of holiday traditions, and a special story reading by the incomparable Theodore Bikel

Daniel Gilliam, program director, afternoon host 1-5p (director of radio, Louisville Public Media) has a multi-faceted role at Louisville Public Media, overseeing 90.5 WUOL Classical Louisville, audience metrics, and behind-the-scenes production work at Louisville Public Media. From 2010-2012 he was program director of Classical Minnesota Public Radio. He hosted and produced the award-winning series African American Voices, he’s the host for Louisville Orchestra concert talks, and a composer.
