Thanks for your comments. The cost of operating the young artist competition is much more than a $200 prize and the judges honorarium, and PNC Wealth Management’s support covers the competition and all of the associated operating costs for this and Instrumental Partners (another service we offer which puts instruments into the hands of young people at no charge) at Louisville Public Media. The underwriting support they offer, along with the $20 entry fee cover the YAC, for which we typically have around 25 participants.

The kids have to pay $20 to enter? If 10 kids sign up, the $200 prize is covered. If 100 kids sign up, $1800 is available (I guess to pay the judges). It seems to me that PNC Wealth management should make it free for the Kids.
