Who is Peter Hope?

British composer Peter Hope is the featured artist on English Pastorale, Sunday at 9 am. He is best known by UK citizens as the composer of the title music to BBC Television News, used from the 1960's to 1980. But Hope is well represented on the concert stage with both "light" music and serious classical pieces. We'll hear his Bassoon Concertino, the Momentum Suite and a new recording of his Four Sketches for oboe, bassoon and piano. Until then enjoy the lighter side of his work:
