The 2010 Classical 90.5 Young Artist Competition Winners’ recital was presented on Wednesday’s Lunchtime Classics. Cellist Ann Richardson, 13, presented Haydn’s Concerto in D and Marimbist Neil Rao, 15, played the Marimba Concerto by Rosauro.

Tenor Samuel Tandei is a native of Bandung, Indonesia. He is in his final year as a student in the Master of Divinity in Church Music program at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Mr. Tandei performed works by J.S. Bach, Mochtar Embut, Hanna Priharto, W.A. Mozart, Ponchielli and Ananda Sukarlan. Ruthanne Fulton is the pianist.

Giacomo Puccini’s immortal Madame Butterfly is the next production by Kentucky Opera (November 19 and 21). General Director David Roth hosts this introduction to the opera with Yunah Lee as Cio-Cio San, Adam Diegel, Pinkerton, John Fanning, Sharpless, and Mika Shigematsu, Suzuki.
